First division Regional Championship changes its name to “Soncent Superliga”

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The “Soncent Superliga” starts next weekend, the name now attributed to the then first division regional championship. The Regional Football Association of São Vicente justifies the change to match the modernization.

Next weekend, the two regional championships will start, with a particularity, since, in relation to the first division, the Association of Regional Football of São Vicente (ARFSV) decided to change the name of the competition that is now called up Soncente Superliga.

In justifying the change, the ARFSV explained that the new “naming”, attributed to the previously designated regional championship of the first division of São Vicente, aims to fulfill its vision towards modernization and the creation of “increasing value” in football in São Vicente .

The league that produced the most champions

“The league that has produced the most national champions throughout history, the league made up of clubs that, despite the various difficulties, do their best to get better and better at all levels, and that fight daily to elevate football in São Vicente, a league where pure talent and passion for the game are the greatest motivation for athletes and coaches, a league like this can only be a Super League”, justified the ARFSV.

The first round of the Soncent Superliga will be played next weekend, and the draw dictated the following table of games:

Saturday, 17th, Mindelense – Castilho (14:00) and Batuque – Derby (16:00).

Sunday 18th, Falcões do Norte – Académica (14:00) and Ribeira Bote – Amarante (16:00).

Regarding the championship of the 2nd. division, the first round, also scheduled for the next weekend, reserves the following when the games are played:

Saturday, 17th, Salamansa – Calhau (10:00) and Estoril – Corinthians (12:00).

Sunday 18th, Farense – São Pedro (10:00) and Uni-Mindelo – Ponta de Pom (12:00).
