Africa-Press – Cape verde. The president of the Independent and Democratic Cabo Verdean Union (UCID), João Santos Luís, will, starting on Friday, the 16th, carry out a three-day visit to Fogo Island with sectors of health and water supply on the agenda.
On his second visit to the island within the space of five months as president of UCID, João Santos Luís will prioritise meetings with the management of the São Francisco de Assis Regional Hospital, with the Águabrava Intermunicipal Water Company and the administration of the port of Vale dos Cavaleiros.
The president of UCID, according to a press release accessed by Inforpress, will take advantage of the visit to establish contacts with militants from all locations in the three municipalities and with members of the UCID board on the island.
Since their first visit, which took place at the beginning of last February, UCID militants across the island have been preparing to elect the Regional Political Commission to boost the party and prepare it for the next electoral clashes, namely the municipal elections of 2024.
