Africa-Press – Cape verde. Académica do Fogo beat Vulcânico, by 3-1, in the most important game of the 12th round of the Fogo football championship, played last weekend. With this victory, Académica moves up to second place with one point less than Vulcânico, which, despite the defeat, remains leader of the competition.

Académica’s goals were scored by Badju, in the 17th minute, Fifa in the 47th minute and by Anderson, three minutes later. Vulcânicos’ goal of honor was scored by Lusim in the 56th minute.

Surprise of the day: Botafogo loses with “Grito Povo”

The Grito Povo team, from the municipality of Mosteiros, staged the surprise of the 12th round by beating the historic Botafogo by 2-1, which, in case of victory, would reach Vulcânico at the top of the league table.

Botafogo scored in the first minutes of the game, but Grito Povo reacted well to the goal conceded and, in the second half, scored the two goals that dictated the defeat of Botafogo.

Still in Mosteiros, Cutelinho defeated Nô Pintcha by 3-2 and, at the Monte Pelado stadium, in Cova Figueira, in the municipality of Santa Catarina, the team from Desportivo tied 1-1 with ABC de Patim.
