Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Municipality of Sal distinguished Grupo Desportivo da Palmeira for winning the third regional football championship in the 1st division and for winning the Djadsal Cup, in senior men’s football, in the 2022/2023 sports season.
The event takes place within the scope of the “Sal Campeão” program, which aims to distinguish and recognize the merit and work of athletes, managers and sportsmen, in general, who have stood out throughout the sporting seasons.
In fact, Grupo Desportivo da Palmeira received a check in the amount of 200,000 escudos and a certificate of recognition for winning the third regional football championship in the 1st division and the Djadsal Cup.

In his communication on the occasion, mayor Júlio Lopes said that now the responsibility is much greater, since the Clube Desportivo da Palmeira is representing the approximately 35 thousand inhabitants of the island.
The president of Clube Desportivo da Palmeira, Jamilson Delgado, said that the team will do everything to represent the island with dignity, while the representative of the Regional Football Association of Sal motivated the players to give their all to bring the national title to Sal.
