Africa-Press – Cape verde. The eighth edition of the Stopira League, in under-19 football, will honor former Cape Verdean international Marco Soares “for the example” he is for young people in Cape Verde.

“Next year we will honor Marcos Soare, for the example he is for young people and for his path in the national football team”, justified the mentor of the competition, Ivanir Rodrigues, known in the football world as Barrusco, in statements to Inforpress.

Seventh edition Stopira League with positive balance

However, taking stock of the seventh edition, which ended on Sunday, Barrusco considered it “positive”, despite some constraints related to the availability of fields.

“It is very complicated when several competitions are taking place, namely the Cape Verde Cup, the veterans’ championship, but next year we will try to reschedule the competition”, he clarified.

During this month of August, Barrusco advanced that he will start with a sub-11 tournament, with the participation of 12 teams, in order to occupy the young people during the school holidays.
