Africa-Press – Cape verde. Ultramarina won the São Nicolau Supercup, in football, by beating Atlético by 1-0, yesterday, at the Di Deus stadium, in Ribeira Brava.
The only goal of the match that gave victory to Ultramarina was scored in the second half by midfielder Staley.
As the Cabo Verdean News Agency advances, at the end of the game, the two coaches made a different reading of the game.
Sandro Reis, from Atlético, was not happy with the defeat and said that his team was the best on the field, having failed in the finalization.
“The game had moments that were divided, but for the most part we were superior, unfortunately we were unable to finish and the opponent scored a goal, with a dead ball, but we dominated the game. Unfortunately, there are days, like this, when the ball doesn’t go in”, he said.
Victory with “special flavor”
Cesar Soares, assistant coach at Ultramarina, highlighted that it was a victory with a special flavor against a very strong opponent.
“We are building a new team, but Ultramarina, regardless of the players it has, always enters all competitions to win and this year it will not escape the rule”, he underlined.
Remember that the São Nicolau regional football championship starts on January 7, 2023, with Ultramarina starting to defend the title against Belo Horizonte.
