Africa-Press – Cape verde. Fuel prices will go down from this Thursday, December 1st, announced today the ARME- Multisectoral Regulatory Agency for the Economy. The price decrease is in the order of 7.04%.
According to the new table, gasoline is now sold for 143.90 escudos per liter; oil at 167.40 escudos per liter; normal diesel at 157.10 diesel for electricity at 148; marine diesel at 124.50; fuel 380 at 100.70 and fuel 180 at 106.70%.
Butane gas is now sold in bulk for 157.70 escudos per kilo, with 3Kg bottles starting to be sold at 449.00 escudos, 6 kg bottles at 946.00 escudos, 12.5 kg bottles at 1,971.00 escudos and those weighing 55Kg, at 8,672.00 escudos.
According to ARME, everything added up corresponds to an average decrease in fuel prices of 7.04%.
International market impact
This decline, according to the same source, was due to some volatility in Brent oil prices on international markets, registering average decreases of 1.59% (90.97 USD), when compared to October prices (92 .44 USD).
The fuel price update once again incorporates changes to the Import Duty (DI) and Special Consumption Tax (ICE) rates, applied since August and in force until December 31. It implies reducing the DI rate on gasoline from 20% to 10%, and on fuel 180 and 380 from 5% to 0%, in addition to reducing the ICE rate on diesel and gasoline, changing from 10% to the specific one of six escudos per litre, recalls ARME.
When compared with the same period of December 2021, the average change in fuel prices “corresponds to an increase of 27.78% and, in relation to the average change over the current year, corresponds to an increase of 0.82% ”, adds the regulator.
The new maximum selling prices to the final consumer are in effect between December 1st and 31st, 2022.
