Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Government is available to provide all necessary technical support to municipalities in implementing the Job, Function and Remuneration Plan (PCFR). The guarantee was given today by the MP for the MpD, Carmem Martins, in the summary of the parliamentary proceedings.
“The Government is fully available to provide any technical support to municipalities for the implementation of the necessary laws. We know that this Government has, from the very beginning, defended the partnership between the Central Government and the Municipal Councils in order to reach people with the necessary public policies that people need in their daily lives, therefore, I believe that there is no reservation, that the Government of the Republic, supported by the Movement for Democracy, will always be available to implement legislation that we know is important for the development of Cape Verde”, she stated.
As for the 13 professional categories that are still awaiting the implementation of the PCFR, Carmem Martins assures that the Government is aware of the concerns and that the situations will be resolved “as soon as possible”.
“The PCFRs are largely a result of the specificities of each sector and we want to do it, but we want to do it well, we don’t want to do it just for the sake of it. We are concerned and the careers will arrive in a timely manner and will be approved. I am talking, for example, about the career of doctors. The minister responsible for the sector said that it is being finalised and that it will soon be considered in the appropriate forum”, he pointed out.
A question to the Government about the Legal Framework for Public Employment, proposed by the PAICV, is one of the items on the agenda for the session that begins this Wednesday.
For the MpD, the question presented by the PAICV is an attempt to divert attention and create political noise.
“I am referring to the PAICV Parliamentary Group’s question to the Government about the Public Employment Legal Framework, enshrined in Law No. 20/X/2023. We cannot pretend that we did not see what is at stake here. This question, unfortunately, does not aim to clarify, does not aim to improve, it aims to divert focus, it aims to create political noise and, above all, it aims to weaken one of the most ambitious reforms that the government of the Republic of Cape Verde has ever undertaken in the public administration of this country”, he stressed.
The National Assembly of Cape Verde will hold, from 7 to 9 May, the first Ordinary Session of the month of May. The session will begin with the Question to the Government about the implementation of the Public Employment Legal Framework, approved by Law No. 20/X/2023, proposed by the PAICV bench.
