Africa-Press – Cape verde. The International Handball Federation (IFH) congratulated the men’s team for the silver medal won at the African Cup of Nations (CAN’2022), in the final lost to Egypt (37-25).
“The team enjoyed the championship and ended up with a historic silver medal, the first in their second participation ever. This position means that the team will be in the world championship for the second time”, reads a note sent by the highest body of world handball sent to the Cape Verdean federation of the sport.
“It is with great joy that we witness the great effort of your federation to promote our sport in the country”, says the document signed by the president of the IFH, Hassan Moustafa.

In turn, the African Handball Confederation (CAHB), in the letter sent to the Cape Verdean Handball Federation, points out that the Cape Verde team demonstrated its “immense” talent alongside an “unbelievable determination”.
“The silver medal won means that the Cape Verdean handball team has definitely entered the world handball agenda”, reads the note signed by Mansourou Aremou, president of CABH.
