Africa-Press – Cape verde. Health facilities in Planalto Norte, Porto Novo, and Santo Antão will be expanded starting in 2026 with the completion of the basic health unit in Chã de Feijoal, a project led by the Porto Novo city government.
According to Inforpress, the city government assured that the Chã de Feijoal health unit, which is currently in the implementation phase, will be operational starting next year, thus reinforcing health care coverage for the population.
Planalto Norte currently has a health center in Chã de Cruz and a basic health unit in Pascoal Alves.
However, the health center has been without a nurse for about a year.
The municipal delegate of Planalto Norte, Jacy Lima, reported that the lack of a nurse at the health center leaves the local population “in a very difficult situation,” especially the elderly and bedridden.
