The president of INE, who was speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the seminar aimed at sharing the results of the diagnosis of the National Statistical System (SEN) for the National Strategy of the Development of Statistics (ENDE) 2022/2026, also added that the institute had already obtained 51% of the financing, from the State and international organizations, with 49% remaining to be achieved.
“Financial resources to implement the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (ENDE) 20222/2026 is a problem, but, at the moment, we have already obtained about 51% of the financing, with a part coming from the State and international organizations and we have about 49% budget to achieve”, he said, stressing that it is a “huge” challenge that they hope to achieve.
Since the diagnosis of the National Statistical System (SEN) is the main component of the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (ENDE), João Cardoso highlighted a set of actions to be developed, aimed at improving and coordinating the national statistical system; the strengthening of human capacity; improvement, quality and production of statistics, and the strengthening of communication and dissemination of the use of official statistics.
