International festival in Lisbon celebrates literature and language with the participation of Mário Lúcio

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The International Festival of Portuguese Language – 5L kicks off today in Lisbon with various activities such as debates, author tables, exhibitions, cinema, music and theater shows, with the participation of the Cabo Verdean Mário Lúcio.

According to the organization, the literary festival, an initiative of the City Hall of Lisbon, which is already in its second edition, running from 4 to 8 this month, proposes to celebrate both language, literature, books, bookstores and reading.

“The festival takes advantage of the cultural life of the city, but at the same time aims to invite new audiences to discover both old and modern authors, both recent and forgotten books and challenging topics around the theme of the language and its speakers,” the organization explained.

In the program that includes debates, author tables, exhibitions, cinema, music and theater shows, with prose and poetry by Portuguese and foreign authors, Mário Lúcio, along with “Os Kriols”, will be at the Teatro Inatel for a concert on May 5, World Portuguese Language Day.
