Africa-Press – Cape verde. The main hotels in the city of Praia are forecast to have an occupancy rate of 100 percent (%) in this last week of the year and, in particular, on New Year’s Eve.These are the cases of the three largest hotels in the country’s capital, namely the Hotel Oásis Praiamar, with 123 rooms, the Hotel Pestana Trópico with 93 rooms and the Vip Hotel Praia, with 74 rooms, are all fully booked and closed for reservations up to 01 de Janeiro, according to information provided by those responsible for reservations.
The other hotel establishments, including Hotel Pérola and Hotel Santiago, with 59 and 36 rooms respectively, have occupancy rates that vary between 40 and 70%, but with the expectation that the number of guests will increase until the end. of the week.
Of the hotels contacted, only two are promoting end-of-year parties, namely the Hotel Praia Mar and the Hotel Pestana Trópico.
These are themed dinners, with special dishes and live music, aimed at guests, but also open to the general public, similar to what has been happening over the years.
“Normally we are focused on our guests, but we also welcome non-guests if there are advance reservations. As I said, we are full and we give priority to our guests”, said the reservation manager at Hotel Trópico, Bequeline Correia e Silva.
The Hotel Vip Praia, unlike other years, will not hold a New Year’s Eve party, despite being 100% occupied. Leave the choice up to the guests. If some of the occupants want something special, the hotel will be ready to make requests.
“This year we will not organize parties. But of course we will be available to respond to our guests’ requests”, said Edson Pereira.
Outside Praia City, in Cidade Velha, the Hotel Vulcão, whose occupancy rate does not reach 50%, is preparing a “massive party” with several packages, whose prices vary from six to 18 thousand escudos, from packages with rooms included and packages only for parties with an open bar, or restaurant service with normal consumption.
