Africa-Press – Cape verde. Mário Margarito Monteiro Delgado Gomes took office this Friday, 22nd, as the new president of the Board of Directors of the Civil Aviation Agency (AAC), in a ceremony presided over by the Minister of Tourism and Transport, Carlos Santos.
According to a Government statement, during the ceremony, the government official congratulated the inductee and expressed his best wishes for success in carrying out his new duties.
Carlos Santos also took the opportunity to recognize and thank the work of the outgoing PCA, highlighting his dedication over the last five years, especially during the pandemic crisis that tested the sector’s competence and professionalism.
Mário Margarito, the new PCA of AAC, emphasized the positive dynamics of the aeronautical sector in recent years, driven by the growth of tourism, and considered this an opportunity for the growth and consolidation of civil aviation in Cape Verde.
The same source says that the PCA was confident that, with the AAC team, it will capitalize on the opportunities for national air transport to contribute even more to the country’s economic and social development.
Mário Margarito Monteiro Delgado Gomes, with specialized training in various areas of civil aviation and with experience as President of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Prevention and Investigation of Aeronautical and Maritime Accidents (IPIAAM) since 2019, was appointed to serve as President of the Board of Administration of the Civil Aviation Agency, in accordance with the provisions of applicable legislation.
