Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) seeks to establish partnerships with Cape Verdean universities

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) (USA) through its program for Africa is looking for ways to implement partnerships with universities and Cape Verdean higher education students within the scope of educational and research exchange.

The coordinator of the MIT-Africa program in Massachusetts, Ari Jacobovits, expressed this openness to Inforpress after the meeting with the President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, three months after the visit of the Head of State to what is considered a “renowned” institution of American higher education for “excellence and innovation” in the field of technology, research, engineering and space sciences.

Ari Jacobovits expressed the commitment of this student organization in Boston in the sense of advancing towards a better engagement with Cape Verdean institutions, since the delegation that is in Cape Verde identifies with the 11th island [diaspora], since this US region is home to a large Cape Verdean community.

“We are looking for greater commitments and to establish greater ties of cooperation between the Cape Verdean community in Massachusetts, Boston, with the Cape Verdean community in the country, for education, research and technology”, explained Ari Jacobovits who is accompanied on this visit to Cabo Verde by three students from this North American university.
