Africa-Press – Cape verde. Members of the Interministerial Commission responsible for preparing and submitting initial and periodic reports will be meeting in Praia this Tuesday, in a training action for the preparation of human rights reports to bodies and mechanisms of human rights.
According to a note from the Government’s communication office, the training aims to train the members of the Interministerial Commission and representatives of institutions involved in the preparation and submission of reports to human rights mechanisms, as well as the follow-up of recommendations.
“The general objective is that participants understand the process of preparing and submitting reports and are prepared to participate actively in the process”, says the note.
The Government recalls that Cape Verde has ratified almost all human rights treaties and respective optional protocols, with the exception of the Convention on the Protection of All Persons against Enforced Disappearance, assuming a set of commitments, among which stand out that of preparing and submitting initial and periodic reports on the implementation of these treaties in the country.
