Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Public Prosecutor’s Office ordered the arrest, outside of flagrante delicto, of two male individuals suspected of robbing the residence of a citizen of Portuguese nationality, a professor at the University of Cape Verde, in December 2021.
According to a statement from the Public Ministry, one of the individuals had performed the functions of private security in that residence, from which the amount of ten thousand euros was subtracted.
“Receiving the news of a crime, the Public Prosecutor’s Office immediately ordered the opening of an investigation, due to evidence of the practice of the crime of robbery, with violence against a person, foreseen and punished by Cape Verdean penal legislation”, he informs.
As part of the investigation, which had the assistance of the judicial police, several steps were taken, which culminated in the identification of the suspects. Subjected to the first judicial interrogation of the detainee, preventive detention was applied to the defendants.
