Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of Modernization of the State and Public Administration, Edna Oliveira, pointed out today, in Praia, the need to increase digital literacy to overcome the resistance of employees in the use of ICT.
Edna Oliveira was speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the opening of the II edition of Public Service Week, which takes place under the slogan “The challenges of the civil service in the era of digital transformation”, and runs until 23 June.
“There is a possible resistance of employees or leaders in relation to the use of information technology. We can overcome this situation by increasing the digital literacy of employees and this requires a training plan so that they know that, often, resistance is not because it is bad but more because it is unknown”, he stressed.
According to the minister, there are several challenges that still persist in the public service with regard to the era of digital transformation, of which, she exemplified, the possibility that the personal data that are collected in the processing of processes and that appear in the information systems have bad use, as well as the risks of having cyber attacks on information systems.
