Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Ministry of Health regretted this Monday, 13, the death of the Cape Verdean surgeon, Daniel Neves, on the 11th, considered one of the unavoidable figures of the Cape Verdean community in Senegal.
Daniel Neves, who was also a National Deputy, died at the age of 86, on Saturday, 11, in Dakar.
In a statement, the Government of Cape Verde, through the Ministry of Health, recalls the deceased as “a great doctor and humanist, who always provided motivation and encouragement to all who enjoyed his presence, as well as a ‘safe haven’ for countless Cabo Verdeans. Verdeans who went to Senegal, namely for medical treatment”.
An intellectual with a vast culture, this doctor-surgeon and former National Deputy also had forays into poetry and music, and some of his compositions were even interpreted by Bana, the “King of Morna”.
