Africa-Press – Cape verde. The asphalting of urban roads in Mosteiros resumed on Monday, the 2nd, with work on the Sumbango bridge, which connects Fajãzinha to the city of Igreja.
According to the schedule defined by the Mosteiros council and the company responsible for executing the work, completion of the work is estimated for the next two months.
The resumption of the work had been announced about two months ago by the president of the Mosteiros City Council, Fábio Vieira, after a meeting with the company responsible for executing the work.
At the time, the parties involved had agreed that the work would be completed within 60 days, with the possibility of an extension of another 30 days, if necessary.
The asphalting of six kilometers of urban roads in the municipality of Mosteiros began in January, but was suspended in February due to disagreements between the local authority and the Ministry of Infrastructure.
The project, which represents an investment of around 180 thousand contos, covers an area that stretches from Achada Malva (Mosteiros Trás) to Fajãzinha and is one of the main commitments of Fábio Vieira’s team for the mandate that ends this year.
The financial resources necessary for the implementation of this project were obtained through a bond transaction with the Cape Verde Stock Exchange, fully subscribed by Banco Cabo-verdiano de Negócios, in addition to the allocation of resources assigned by the Tourism Fund.
