Africa-Press – Cape verde. Between October and December 2022, there was a 79.8% increase in the number of aircraft handled at national airports and aerodromes, compared to the same period in 2022, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE) today.
Likewise, these data translated into a significant increase of 153.0% in the number of passengers handled at airports and aerodromes, in the period under review, compared to the same period of the previous year.
In the transport report for the 3rd quarter of last year, INE also points to a growth of 29.6% in tons of cargo handled at airports and airfields in the country and a decrease of 9.5% in mail handled in these infrastructures.
Regarding the number of ships handled in the ports of Cape Verde, there was an increase of 7.3% and a growth of 7.3% in the number of passengers circulating in these ports.
However, there is a decrease of 0.8% in the number of goods handled in national ports, according to INE data.
With regard to buses, there is an increase of 1.5% in the number of passengers transported.
