The National Directorate of the Movement for Democracy welcomed, this Monday, the measures announced by the executive, in order to mitigate the rise in prices in the country, which are the stabilization of the price of fuel and essential products. The National Directorate met on March 26 to present the 2021 accounts.
“ We emphasize the stabilization of the price of fuel, wheat, corn, rice, cooking oil and powdered milk and the maintenance of measures in progress, the reduction of VAT on electricity from 15 to 8%, the increase for companies, by 30% of costs with the acquisition of water and electricity and the 50% discount on the social water and electricity tariff for the most vulnerable families”, listed the Secretary General of the MpD and Spokesperson for the Meeting of the National Directorate, Filomena Delgado Silva, in a statement, sent to this newsroom.
The creation of the crisis office, which, as he said, adjusts measures whenever necessary and communicates with society, was positively appreciated by the members of the National Directorate, aware that the Government will do the best management.
This assessment follows the ordinary meeting of the National Party Directorate, where the 2021 financial report was approved.
Regarding the accounts, however, the recommendation was made to the National Political Commission to reflect on the party’s funding and the adoption of measures for effective communication internally and with society.

On the 3rd of April, according to the same source, the MpD will hold elections for the Municipal Political Assemblies and the Political Assemblies in the Emigrant Communities in sixteen municipalities and in the diaspora in 8 countries.
“The MpD bets on the election of local leaders with political autonomy and mobilization capacity, carrying out political actions and more action among militants and society”, he observed.
As for the cycle of conferences called “What Party do we have, what Party do we want” with two conferences already held, one in Praia and another in São Vicente, he guarantees that they will continue in the coming months, in the remaining municipalities of the country and in the diaspora.
