OE’2023: Parties with parliamentary seats expressed “optimism” and “discredit” to the PR

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The parties with parliamentary seats were heard this Thursday by the President of the Republic in the framework of the promulgation of the State Budget for 2023, with the MpD (power) being optimistic, while PAICV and UCID (oppositions) expressed themselves discredits.

Held separately, José Maria Neves began the audience with the secretary general of the Movement for Democracy, Luís Carlos Silva, who on leaving expressed his optimism to the press, with the argument that the economy “is on the rise and get back on their feet” and “the worst is over”.

“Honestly, I am quite optimistic regarding the final execution of the 2022 State Budget and for 2023, we hope that the year will be much better than 2022. There are, indeed, several uncertainties and risks that depend on the international context that 2023 may present, but there are also positive signs that have to do, for example, with the issue of inflation”, he said.

Luís Carlos Silva said “he hopes that inflation in 2023 will return to the normality experienced for a decade”, adding that the MpD hopes to “continue the downward trajectory of the public debt, as well as the downward trajectory of the deficit”, claiming that “ the worst is over and the country is returning to its normal dynamics”.
