Africa-Press – Cape verde. More than 100 passengers who had a scheduled sea journey to Praia, this Wednesday, are stranded on the island of Maio, supposedly until Friday. Many have connecting flights out of the country and question who will bear the responsibilities.
There are many emigrants on the island who were on vacation and may miss connecting flights to their destination airports, as TCV found in Porto do Maio.
“I had a ticket for tomorrow, the trip was rescheduled for Friday or Sunday, if any. My vacations are over, now how do I solve my problems in Praia”, one of the passengers told TCV, whose final destination was Praia.
Another passenger, with a flight to Portugal on Friday, questions whether the shipping company will be responsible for her ticket to that country of residence.
“I have children who need to go to school on Monday. How do we stay,” she asks, on the other hand.

In the same situation, another passenger reports her distress, saying that she bought the ticket for this Wednesday, the 14th, but that she received a message informing her of the change of the trip to the 17th.
“They don’t know if we have the conditions to stay here, from Wednesday, until the 17th”, he pointed out.
There are more than a hundred passengers stranded on the island, many with a final trip to Praia, others out of the country.
The company that manages inter-island maritime transport claimed bad weather for the cancellation of the trips.
This after the inauguration of Porto do Maio took place on the 7th of September.
