Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Pedro Pires Institute for leadership started today, the 25th, commemorative activities for its tenth anniversary, with a fruit tree planting campaign in Lém Ferreira. The initiative was carried out in partnership with the Praia Verde project.
Created ten years ago, the IPP prepared a program of activities to celebrate the “social entrepreneur journey taken by Pedro Pires”, with a view to motivating the current and future generation of Cape Verdean leaders.
The program began this Thursday morning, also Africa Day, with a planting of fruit trees at the EBO School in the Lém Ferreira neighborhood, in Cidade da Praia.
Commitment to the environment
The objective, according to the institute, was to reinforce, among civil society, the need to renew the commitment to the environment.
Still within the scope of the celebrations of the tenth anniversary of the IPP, other activities are planned, such as the Summer Leadership Program 2023, the X Strategic Dialogue, scheduled for October, the VIII Meeting of the Form(s) of the IIP and the Annual Lecture.
