PM asks parties for consent to bring a law of anti-nepotism and incompatibility to Parliament

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Government is available to bring back to Parliament, the incompatibilities law together with an anti-nepotism law in order to guarantee transparency in public administration, and for that, it is necessary to build consensus between the parties.

The Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, presented this dissipation during the parliamentary debate with deputies on “transparency as a factor of development”, held today at the request of the African Party for the Independence of Cape Verde (PAICV).

Ulisses Correia e Silva recalled that his government, right at the beginning of the previous mandate, had presented a law of incompatibilities to separate the exercise of party positions from public positions, and to end the departisanship of the administration, which was not approved due to PAICV denial.

“We brought this law here, which was a very clear first sign and applicable to everyone. It is even pedagogical to know that the State is moving in this direction. The law was not approved because the PAICV failed because it requires two thirds”, he stressed.
