Africa-Press – Cape verde. The young man from Mindelo was elected by the National Political Committee of the Movement for Democracy (MpD) as deputy secretary-general of the party, a responsibility that he promises to assume with “humility, determination and total dedication”.
The announcement was made by the man himself on his Facebook page, as cited by Inforpress, where he stated that he had been elected last Friday, the 15th, to assume this position in the party with specific specifications.
“I will assume these new responsibilities with the same attitude as always, humility, determination and total dedication”, he stated.
Vander Gomes will now assist the secretary-general of the MpD, Agostinho António Lopes, whom he thanked for the invitation and for the trust placed in him, promising to perform his duties “with zeal, for the benefit of the party and the country”.
He also thanked the National Political Committee, led by president Ulisses Correia e Silva, for approving his name for “such a demanding task”.
“I hope to be up to the challenges and the mission that was entrusted to me,” he concluded in his Facebook post, as reported by Inforpress.
