Africa-Press – Cape verde. Municipal investments in the health sector in the municipality of Porto Novo, Santo Antão, this year will amount to around 15 million escudos, according to the city hall’s investment plan for 2026.
According to Inforpress, the plan explains that the city hall intends to invest approximately 8 million escudos in the rehabilitation of health units and a base and residence for nurses, while the remainder will be applied to health promotion.
This document states that the health-related actions planned by the city hall are focused on “promoting well-being, preventing diseases, and strengthening community health conditions.”
The interventions consist of prevention and awareness in areas such as nutrition, hygiene, mental health, and chronic diseases, the plan adds, also highlighting the improvement of sanitary conditions in neighborhoods and communities, as well as support for vaccination campaigns and school health promotion activities.
