Africa-Press – Cape verde. The national head of the Cape Verdean Catholic Scouting Corps (CEC-CV), Zezinha Alfama, highlighted the participation of the scouts in the World Youth Day (WYD) and in the “Jamboree of faith”, experiences you want to share in Cabo Verde.
Speaking to Inforpress, Zezinha Alfama explained that the coming to Portugal of the 47 scouts, as well as more than ten spiritual assistants who are also scout leaders, was not only to participate in WYD Lisbon 2023, which took place from August 1st to 6th, but also for the “Faith Jamboree”.
“It was our great mission to participate in this journey, but also to participate in a great moment, which the assistant of the International Conference of Catholic Scouting, referred to this event as the “Jamboree of faith”. A great moment of strengthening the bond of friendship and fraternity that took place on the 2nd of August, in da Quinta das Conchas park”, she said.
According to the Cape Verdean official, the event was attended by hundreds of scouts from all over the world and was an opportunity for Cape Verdean scouts to show all the Cape Verdean experience, share songs, joy and the way of being and being of the people of the islands.
