Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cape Verdean student of the fourth year of the Integrated Master’s Degree in Medicine at the University of Lisbon Deise Jesus is one of the scholarship holders of the Sara Carreira Association, which also provided a sponsor to accompany her until the end of the course.
Speaking to Inforpress, the young student, who is 21 and arrived in Lisbon in 2019 with a vacancy at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon, told that she arrived in Portugal without a scholarship, but that in the third year it was possible to get the scholarship to continue her studies.
“It is an association that gives me a lot of support to follow my college and it is a scholarship that also has a sponsor from the association, a person of my area of training and who stays to accompany me while I am studying,” she said, explaining that every year she has to reapply to see if she remains within the criteria for the renewal of the scholarship.
The Sara Carreira Association was formed on May 2, 2021, in memory of the failed singer, daughter of the Portuguese artist Tony Carreira, who died on December 5, 2020, to help young people with talent in some area and who want to follow their path academic.
