
Africa-Press – Cape verde. The members of the Network of Jurisdictional Bodies of Electoral Administration (ROJAE) of the CPLP are gathered in Lisbon for their VI General Assembly, with the establishment of a permanent secretariat as one of the items on the agenda.
According to the organization, in addition to establishing a permanent secretariat, the Network of Jurisdictional Bodies of the Electoral Administration of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (ROJAE-CPLP), has on its agenda the setting of the amount/value of the annual fee for each member.
The appointment of the head of the electoral observation missions for the elections in Timor-Leste and Guinea-Bissau to be held in May and June 2023. The ratification of the Lisbon Charter on the organization of electoral processes and the summary of the round table on “Joint Experience of Electoral Observation Missions” within the scope of the ROJAE are also in the work points.
Meanwhile, according to the same source, before the VI General Assembly of the ROJAE-CPLP, the members met on the 14th and 15th of February, to analyze the “freedom of action and equal opportunities for candidacies, information deserts and other dangers of democracy, elections in the context of disinformation and algorithms created by machines”.
