Africa-Press – Cape verde. The President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, today declined to comment on the intention of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) to summon him, as a former prime minister, to testify at the investigation process of the Casa para Todos Program.
José Maria Neves, who was speaking to the press after receiving a visit this morning of a group of children from the Achadinha Baixo neighbourhood, as part of the African Children’s Day, celebrated on 16 June, said that the issue is still in the parliamentary house and that he will make a statement on the subject “at the appropriate time.
“These are issues that I do not comment on, but I think it is a question that they should ask the president of the MpD and the prime minister, to know what the strategy of the Movement for Democracy is in relation to these institutional issues and that have to do with democracy, freedoms and the development of the country,” he said.
