The President of the Republic today expressed optimism and confidence in the economic growth potential of the Santiago Norte region, when inaugurating the Praça Center in Assomada, Santa Catarina, highlighting that it is a partnership to boost the sustainable development of the municipality.
In an interview with the press, José Maria Neves highlighted that Praça Center is an example of an innovative initiative, the result of collaboration between the public and private sectors, and that it represents an important step in boosting the local economy.
“This project demonstrates that municipalities must build competitiveness factors, attracting private investment and promoting improvements in people’s quality of life,” said the president.
The head of state also reinforced the need to continue works that have a positive impact on the lives of citizens, as this project had already been implemented by other governments.
“When there are projects that improve people’s quality of life, it is essential that there is continuity and investment. After all, the mission of municipalities is to seek the common good and permanent development,” he said.
In turn, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Khym Negoce Group, Kamal Hojeige, highlighted the importance of Assomada, the second largest city on the island of Santiago, as a center of commerce, transportation and business, which deserves investments in areas such as commerce and industry to generate more jobs and opportunities.
“The city has enormous potential, and projects like this square contribute to creating an attractive environment, with leisure spaces, quality commerce and opportunities for the whole family,” he added.
Likewise, the mayor of Santa Catarina, Armindo Freitas, also highlighted the relevance of the initiative for the progress of the municipality, considering that this space symbolizes the growth and development of Santa Catarina.
Therefore, the mayor of Santa Catarina reaffirmed that the city’s team “is open to investments and innovation, as the focus is to work to transform dreams into reality and promote the well-being of the population”.
“We believe that it is with these investments, and many others, that the municipality of Santa Catarina will mark a new era of progress and development. We are optimistic and encourage other investors to seek out the municipality of Santa Catarina in this new era to invest,” the mayor stated.
The public present at the event, including children, took the opportunity to express their satisfaction with the new square, which promises to be a leisure and socializing center for the entire community and with many innovations.
Praça Center, which was developed in partnership with the Khym Negócio Group and the City of Santa Catarina, offers a multifunctional space with leisure areas, playgrounds, terraces, and commercial spaces that aim to meet the needs of the local community. The space also includes job creation for young people and a new vision of sustainable urban development.
