Praia Health Department receives notification about cases of food poisoning at the “ALOHA” party

Africa-Press – Cape verde. Praia’s Health Delegate, Ulardina Furtado, confirmed today that she was notified about food poisoning that occurred among people who participated in the “ALOHA” New Year’s Eve party, in Prainha.

Speaking to Inforpress, Ulardina Furtado explained that this is a type of event that, when detected, doctors must report to the health department for investigation.

“Yesterday we were notified and today we are collecting information from the hospital and other health services so that we can have reliable data to then contact the party organizers”, he said.

According to the health delegate, at this time, it is difficult to go to the location and find the product consumed so that its consumption can be suspended.

It states, however, that the Praia Health Department service will visit the site and make recommendations, as people are still hospitalized due to the problem of food poisoning.

Sigui Sabura & Grupo Mirage, the organizing company, upon becoming aware of the cases of food poisoning, issued a statement in which it states that it is difficult to detect “salmonella” as it does not emit odors or alert in the “visual aspect”, but says it “deeply regrets ” what happened.

“We ask that if you feel unwell, cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, you should immediately go to a health unit so that correct medication can be administered”, reads the statement from Sigui Sabura & Grupo Mirage.

On social media, internet users, despite recognizing that this was the best end-of-year party held in the country, shared reports of people who showed symptoms of food poisoning and who had to be treated in hospital.
