Africa-Press – Cape verde. Long distance runners Jessara Xavier, from Assomada, and Kelton da Lomba, from Ribeira Grande de Santiago, were the winners of the V edition of the Freedom Race, in Praia.
In men, Mily Brito (São Nicolau) took second place, while Fábio Martins closed the podium by taking the bronze medal.
At the female level, in addition to the conquest of the athlete from Santa Catarina de Santiago, Jessara Xavier who crossed the finish line in first place, Edena Lima and Adalgiza Varela, achieved second and third place, respectively.
The 5th edition of the Armed Forces Race took place this Saturday, simultaneously in São Vicente, Sal and Praia, as part of the activities commemorating the 56th anniversary of the military institution in the military and civil/Paralympic categories (senior, junior and veterans).
It is also part of the commemorations of the 56th Anniversary of the Armed Forces of Cape Verde, which took place on the 15th of January.
