The Ministry of Infrastructure, Spatial Planning and Housing (MIOTH) announced, this Wednesday, 23, the completion of the preliminary study for the construction of the Praia Negra viaduct, which aims to improve urban mobility in the city of Praia.

According to the executive’s publication, this is a strategic project that aims to respond to the current challenges of urban mobility, road safety and territorial planning, in one of the areas with the highest traffic density and urban relevance in the capital.

The project includes improving traffic flow, enhancing road safety, providing efficient connections between critical urban areas, and facilitating access to Porto da Praia.

It also provides for the creation of an alternative route to Nelson Mandela International Airport, as well as the promotion of sustainable urban development.

“This is a priority infrastructure project, aligned with the government’s vision for a modern, resilient, and functional Praia city, aligned with its commitments to sustainable urban mobility, quality of life, and sustainable economic growth,” he emphasized.

The Preliminary Study, which will be completed with the Basic Design and the Execution Design, will allow, according to the same source, to identify the best technical and urbanistic solution for the implementation of the viaduct, considering essential aspects such as mobility, environmental impact and integration with the existing road network.
