Africa-Press – Cape verde. The President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, today congratulated the Portuguese people and President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, on the Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities, celebrated on the 10th of June.
In a letter addressed to his Portuguese counterpart, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the Head of State expressed, on behalf of the Cape Verdean people and in his own name, “heartfelt congratulations and renewed wishes for health and success for you and for prosperity and well-being for this friendly country”.
Still in the missive, José Maria Neves reiterates his “firm will, together with President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, to continue in the “deepening and consolidation of the excellent relations of friendship, solidarity and cooperation, which fortunately exist” between the two peoples and countries .
Portugal, Camões and Portuguese Communities Day is celebrated today, June 10th.
In the city of Praia and Mindelo, various activities alluding to the date are taking place, carried out by the Embassy of Portugal in Cape Verde.
