Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cape Verdean community residing in Brazil calls for government intervention in regulating air fares between the two countries. As they say, the current values practiced are abusive and make travel difficult. A public petition is in circulation.
“We understand the increase in prices globally, but we consider the amounts now applied to be abusive, because even considering inflation in recent years, tariffs have increased significantly by more than 400%”, reads in the public petition, consulted by the A Nation online, on the internet.
As an example, they say that tickets that once cost 40 thousand escudos, in high season, now cost 178 thousand escudos, in any season.

This tariff, they say, has made Cape Verdeans hostage in Brazil and made it impossible to travel to their home country.
The values have worried and outraged the entire community.
In this sense, they ask for the intervention of the Government of Cape Verde to intercede in search of alternatives that can provide, once again, the encounter with the land, family and friends.
There is even a public petition in circulation asking for fair prices to travel between the two countries.
