Africa-Press – Cape verde. The executive administrator for the Food Division at ERIS, Patrícia Alfama, said today that product labeling has been one of the concerns of the institution and warns of the dangers in food safety for consumers.
This official was speaking in an exclusive interview with Inforpress, within the framework of the World Food Safety Day, marked annually on June 7, considering that there have been cases of products such as rice, flour and sugar that are offered for sale “without information”.
It is in this context, he said, that the entity, aware of its role in the intervention and inspection of products, thus contributing to the promotion of health in the food sector in Cabo Verde, will promote a commemorative conference with the participation of public institutions and economical operators.
Afterwards, he advanced, the two basic diplomas of food safety, both published in 2009, and which are still in force, will be presented, referring to the control and safety of foodstuffs and animal feed.
