Africa-Press – Cape verde. The deliberation that sets the fare to be charged by taxi drivers in the municipality of Santa Catarina do Fogo was approved this Thursday, 28th, unanimously by municipal elected representatives during the tenth ordinary session of the Municipal Assembly.
The proposal for a deliberation to regulate taxi fares was submitted to the Municipal Assembly by the city council of Santa Catarina do Fogo after holding a meeting with all taxi owners with the aim of establishing a tariff that must be practiced by everyone.
With the approval of the tariff, the amount to be charged within the city of Cova Figueira is 120 escudos during the day and 200 escudos at night and from the city center to the Monte Pelado stadium the value is 150 and 200 escudos respectively.
For the extreme south of the municipality of Santa Catarina, from Cova Figueira to Fonte Aleixo Sul the daytime value is 800 escudos and at night 900 escudos and for Achada Furna, departing from the city center the value is 1,000 and 1,200.
For the extreme north, Cova Figueira/Tinteira the price is 700/800 escudos and for Cova Matinho it is 500/600 escudos while for the lower part of the municipality, namely from Cova Figueira to Maria da Cruz the price is 200/300 escudos and for Domingos Lobo 300/400 escudos depending on the period.
For Cabeça Fundão and Chã das Caldeiras, the price is higher and a trip from Cova Figueira costs 2,000 during the day and 2,400 at night to Cabeça Fundão and 4,000 and 4,500 escudos to Chã das Caldeiras.
For Estância Roque and Mãe Joana the value, according to the tariff, is 800/1000 and 500/600 escudos depending on the period.
A trip from Cova Figueira to the city of São Filipe was set at 3,500 escudos during the day and 5,000 at night, for the Monasteries it is 3,500 during the day and 5,000 at night and a return to the island departing from the city of Cova Figueira the value is 8,000 escudos.
In addition to approving the deliberation that regulates and sets the tariff to be practiced by taxi drivers in the municipality of Santa Catarina do Fogo, unifying tariffs according to destinations and promoting a transparent and beneficial relationship between the taxi service and the community, the municipal elected officials approved the management instruments, activity plan and budget, for the year 2024.
