The Santa Catarina City Council will present, this Tuesday, the 18th, the project for the Center for Reception and Social Integration of Santa Catarina, having advanced that the works are already completed. Budgeted at around 3 thousand escudos, the center in the former premises of the Health Center and Police Station in Assomada “will be the largest Social Center in Cape Verde”.
According to a note from the municipality, the presentation, aimed at partners, takes place in the Town Hall, followed by a guided tour of the space, located in the former premises of the Health Center of Assomada and the Health Police Station of Santa Catarina.
The rehabilitation works of the Reception and Social Integration Center were, according to the same source, “carried out by direct agreement and in the record time of 30 days”.
Budgeted at an approximate value of 3 million escudos, it will house various services in the social area, namely, Social Pension, Social Housing, Casa da Sopa, Psychosocial Centre, Verdefam, ICIEG, Single Social Register, Directorate of Education and Vocational Training, among others.
The “greatest” in Cape Verde
The municipality says that this Center for Reception and Social Integration will be the largest social center in Cape Verde, centralizing all services in the social area in the same space, “translating into cost reduction for the municipality and in the effectiveness and efficiency of services services and public policies”.
The project will be presented on the morning of Tuesday, 18th, by President Jassira Monteiro and Councilor for Social Development, Equity and Gender Equality, Isabel Monteiro.
