Africa-Press – Cape verde. This Saturday, at the Pavilhão Vavá Duarte, the Santiago national team won the 2nd edition of the Inter-ilhas Futsal competition for residents of the city of Praia. The team from Santiago won the selection of Santo Antão in the final by 5-2.
In the first match, for the dispute for third place, the selection from Fogo defeated the selection from Boa Vista by 9-4, achieving, as in the previous edition, the podium.
The format of the competition was of three groups made up of three teams, with the winner of each group and the best runner-up advancing to the semi-finals.
The competition, just for residents of the city of Praia, had, as in the previous edition, teams representing all the islands.
The event was organized by Núcleo de Futsal de Santiago, a branch of the movement “Together for the officialization of futsal in Cape Verde”.
Created on July 16, 2021, the movement “Together for the officialization of futsal in Cape Verde” aims to raise awareness among young people about the practice of the sport, as well as contributing to a healthy lifestyle.
