Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of Infrastructure Eunice Silva confirmed on Monday the possibility the World Bank financing the completing of Santiago ring (Calheta/Tarrafal) and Saltos’ road, Pingo Chuva, a work of 350 million escudos due its complexity.

The Minister, who is also responsible for the Spatial Planning and Housing portfolios, gave this assurance, in statements to the press, after meeting with the World Bank representatives and after visits to the works under the Requalification, Rehabilitation and Accessibility Programme (PRRA), in the countryside of Santiago and Santo Antão.

“There will be possibility of funding. Everything points out that we will continue the PRRA projects were stopped with COVID-19. The PRRA as a whole is around 11 million and we have already spent about 5 million, which proves that half of the works have already been carried out”, she said, stressing that the Government’s intention is to continue the project.

After this statement, she stated that the “most important” programme for this term is “Habitat”, which has already been funded in one of the phases, and whose beginning is planned for the municipality of Praia.
