Africa-Press – Cape verde. The construction of the Santo Antão international airport, the expansion of the port of Porto Novo and the installation of higher education in this region are “essential bets” to “take off the island towards development”.
Who says so is the Member of Parliament elected by Santo Antão constituency, Damião Medina, who said he found this week through “a tour” around the three municipalities that Santo Antão is a “rich, beautiful and promising island”, pointed to the “international airport, better port and higher education as being “essential bets” to leverage regional development.
The airport, the expansion of the port and higher education are bets to also keep the Santo Antão people, especially young people, on their own island”, argues the Member of Parliament, according to who Santo Antão has “various potentials and should give more” to Cabo Verde.
For this Member of Parliament of the Movement for Democracy (MpD), ruling party, this island “has everything to work”.
