Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) representation in Cabo Verde is available to support a possible application of the island of Santo Antão to world heritage.
FAO representative in Cabo Verde, Ana Laura Touza, in a message addressed on Tuesday, on the occasion of the launch of the International Year of the Mountains, whose act took place in Santo Antão, said she was aware that the municipalities of Santo Antaão want the classification of this island to the category of world heritage.
She also said she has information that the Government is working to promote Santo Antão among the 20 most beautiful islands in the world.
“An ambition more than fair. FAO will always be available to support efforts to achieve these objectives,” said the international organization’s representative in Cabo Verde.
