Africa-Press – Cape verde. The last round of the Santo Antão Norte regional football championships, to be played this weekend, is generating expectations in the football world, with the teams União Desportiva de Santo Crucifixo and Rosariense in the fight for the title. Today’s game, between Santo Crucifixo and Solpontense, could be decisive.
This Saturday, April 1st, the decision for the title depends on Santo Crucifixo, isolated leader of the championship with two points ahead of their direct opponent, Rosariense.
But, if the team “stumbles” in the game with Solpontense, the decision of the championship will be on the side of the alvinegros, who will play on Sunday, April 2, with Torreense.
Hard game
The coach of Santo Crucifixo, Palela, claimed that the game against Solpontense will be “very difficult”, since, as he analysed, his team will play against “excellent athletes, very evolved and well trained technically”.
“It has to be a game that doesn’t just go for motivation. We have been working on the issue of anxiety, because we have to win, so we are working and focused on our game”, underlined the coach, quoted by Inforpress.
Palela also said that there are players who are suffering from injuries, but he hopes that they will improve to make their contribution to the team, in order to achieve the goal of being champion.
“One more game”
For his part, Solpontense coach Marcos Fortes considered that the last game of the season against Santo Crucifixo will be “one more game” and that during the championship his team tried to do their “best” and their players gave their all. “maximum”.
Questioned about the “rivalry” between Solpontense and Rosariense and also about the way he left the alvinegros’ team that will “facilitate” Santo Crucifixo to become champions, Marco Fortes was adamant and stated that he always took his job in football “from serious way”.
“I’ve never been one for facilitation, whoever has what to win may win. We’ll do our best to win our game. Now, the way I left Rosariense, nothing will interfere in the game against Santo Crucifixo. Water in the past, the management made its decision and moved forward, but I will walk with greater dignity, always honoring what I do” he stressed.
“Play good football”
Rosariense coach Vando Irineu, who is also fighting for the title, said that his speech remains the same as at the beginning of the season, that is, they come in to play “good football”.
“Regardless of the result on Saturday, if Santo Crucifixo wins, our posture on the field will be the same as in other games. Even because for us more than thinking about lifting the cup, as I have been telling my pupils, they won a long time ago”, he stressed.
Torrense hopes to jump in the table
Torrense’s coach, Anilido da Luz, who will face Rosariense, said, for his part, that he hopes to come out “victorious” in this last round.
“We know it’s the last game of the day and we can’t escape the rule of going to score three more points. We know that Rosariense is a strong team and has its aspiration for the title, but we also have ours, which is to leave the place we are in the table”, he said.
Therefore, Anildo da Luz guaranteed that his team will play and “fight” to take the three points home.
However, according to the same source, if they don’t succeed, their pupils will leave the field with their faces “raised”.
