Africa-Press – Cape verde. The health delegate of São Filipe, Joana Alves, highlighted today the importance of the work of the Cabo Verdean Association of Physicians in the United States, which for three days provided free consultations and various examinations to the population.
The diverse medical team, consisting of two cardiologists, two pediatricians, an internal medicine specialist, and family doctors, provided consultations and exams from Monday, 24, to Wednesday, 26, whose results will be sent later by the team, according to the delegate.
However, she noted that in general there was a “good” response, as these areas represent a need for the population, regretting the fact that three days were too short for the demand.
Nevertheless, Joana Alves guaranteed that it is the association’s intention to come every year, with the delegate expressing the need for at least twice a year due to the “shortage” of these specialties on the island of Fogo.
