Africa-Press – Cape verde. The President of the Republic said this Thursday, the 19th, in Ribeira Brava, São Nicolau, the transport and water as “crucial factors” to “open” the island and called for “greater effort and work” at the national level of the two sectors.
José Maria Neves spoke to Inforpress after a meeting he had with the civil society in Ribeira Brava, as part of his visit to Sao Nicolau, and which served “essentially”, as he said, to listen to the concerns of the population and to be aware on the existing challenges.
“It was to be aware on the main challenges of the island, the concerns of the population and seek answers to these questions, because it is necessary to make a greater effort, to work at the national level mainly on the issue of transport and water in Sao Nicolau,” the Head of State said.
José Maria Neves also said he will work with local authorities, civil society, companies, NGOs and the Government to find the solutions “most suitable for all”, in relation to the problems reported.
