Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cabo Verdean Chess Federation (FCX) finalises preparations for the “Cabo Verde Open 2022”, a race to be played from 22 to 30 this month in Mindelo, involving players from ten countries in Africa, Europe and America.
The president of FCX, Francisco Carapinha, told Inforpress that the race will have the participation of players on behalf of ten countries, namely Cabo Verde (20), Portugal (four), Angola (two), Romania, France, Senegal, Serbia, Spain, Brazil and Venezuela.
The chess players, national and foreign, have already begun to arrive in São Vicente, so FCX has the logistics set up to start this Friday the competition in a hotel unit in the city of Mindelo.
To be played in the Swiss system, in nine sessions, the “Cabo Verde Open 2022”, considered the largest International Chess competition in the country, will distribute prizes to the three best players in Cabo Verde, who are registered in FIDE through the Cabo Verdean Chess Federation.
