Africa-Press – Cape verde. The City Hall of São Vicente hopes to continue to rely on UNICEF’s partnership to implement a diverse range of actions and projects it has underway, towards the children protection.
Who said it was the Councilman Rodrigo Rendall, on Tuesday, in São Vicente, after a meeting he held with the head of the Joint Office of UNDP, UNFPA and UNICEF, Steve Ursino, who for these days is in the North of the country for contacts with local authorities and learn on the “gains and challenges” still persist in the realization of children’s rights in São Vicente and Santo Antão.
Rodrigo Rendall considered the meeting, which also involved leaders from the Cabo Verdean Institute of Children and Adolescents (ICCA), “very fruitful”, since it will be possible, as he said, to materialize some projects that the municipality wants to see reinforced, among them, “as a priority”, the increase of the network of kindergartens and the number of daycare centers.
This is a “pressing need” in the municipality, the same source said, who also presented to UNICEF’s representative the City Hall goal to invest in the professional training of young people, with a focus on productive inclusion, “so that families can have their work”.
